Troops Intercept ISWAP Logistics Consignment, Recover Vehicles, Cash in Borno

Troops of Sector 2, Joint Task Force North East, Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), in collaboration with the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), have intercepted two pick-up vans conveying logistics supplies suspected to be meant for Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists in Borno State.

The interception followed credible intelligence on the movement of the consignment from Dapchi in Yobe State towards the Magumeri general area of Borno.

Acting swiftly on the intelligence, troops mounted a stop-and-search operation along the route and successfully intercepted the vehicles.

Items recovered during the operation included two vehicles, 31 spare tyres, 23 spare rims, two bicycles, 12 ignition key starters, three alternators, two bags of flour, one mattress, five bags of charcoal, 34 tubers of yam, two blankets, two bags of garri, assorted adult and children clothing, one power bank, six mobile phones, as well as cash in different denominations.

The drivers conveying the items, alongside the recovered materials, are currently in military custody for further interrogation and investigation.

A statement by the Media Information Officer, Joint Task Force (North East) Operation HADIN KAI, Lt.-Col. Sani Uba, said the successful interception underscored the effectiveness of intelligence-driven operations and sustained collaboration between troops and local security partners in disrupting terrorist logistics networks.

According to him, troops of OPHK remain resolute in denying terrorists freedom of movement, cutting off their supply chains and ensuring the safety and security of law-abiding citizens across the North-East.
