
Bauchi State Governor, Sen. Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, has presented motorcycles and a patrol vehicle to the Duguri Community Security Hunters’ Group as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen community-based security across the state.
The vehicles, procured by the Chairman of Alkaleri Local Government Area, Hon. Garba Bajama, were formally handed over through the District Head of Duguri, Alhaji Ibrahim Y. M. Baba, who represented the hunters’ group during the presentation.
Speaking at the event, Gov. Mohammed urged members of the hunters’ group to ensure proper maintenance and responsible use of the vehicles, stressing that they were provided strictly to enhance the protection of lives and property within the community.
The governor emphasized the importance of collaboration among local security outfits, traditional institutions and government authorities in curbing insurgency, militia activities and other forms of criminality.
He commended the Alkaleri Local Government chairman and other stakeholders for prioritizing security at the grassroots, describing the initiative as a model of community-driven intervention.
Mohammed reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting local security initiatives that promote peace, safety and vigilance across Bauchi State, adding that government alone could not address security challenges without the active involvement of communities.
The presentation underscores the state government’s resolve to complement conventional security agencies with community-based structures in order to achieve lasting peace and stability.
