The Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) has invited beneficiary Polytechnics and Colleges of Education across the country to submit Expressions of Interest for its Phase Two Agricultural Commercial Farms Intervention.
The call, issued by the management of the Fund, is part of ongoing efforts to advance modern agricultural practices through effective teaching, research and entrepreneurship training in tertiary institutions.
According to TETFund, the intervention is aimed at promoting the establishment of commercial farms and livestock production in Polytechnics and Colleges of Education, following the successful selection of 10 institutions nationwide under the first phase of the programme.
The Fund explained that eligible institutions must be TETFund beneficiaries with Schools of Agricultural Technology or Schools of Vocational and Technical Studies with significant student enrolment. It added that participating institutions must possess a minimum of 50 hectares of unencumbered land designated for agricultural purposes.
TETFund also stipulated that applicant institutions must already operate existing commercial farms or agribusinesses with at least one value chain covering crop production, animal production, fisheries or poultry.
The Fund noted that monies disbursed under the intervention would be directed strictly toward commercial agricultural production and sales, while also providing opportunities for students’ practical training in modern farming techniques and the adoption of agricultural technology.
It added that approved funds would be released in tranches based on predetermined milestones and verified satisfactory performance.
Interested institutions are required to submit two copies of their Expression of Interest, accompanied by relevant documents including survey plans of designated land, evidence of existing agricultural ventures, lists of accredited agricultural programmes, student enrolment figures, staff strength details and financial statements related to the agricultural enterprise.
TETFund stated that all submissions should reach the Office of the Executive Secretary, Tertiary Education Trust Fund, No. 6 Zambezi Crescent, off Aguiyi Ironsi Street, Maitama, Abuja, not later than Friday, February 9, 2026.
The Fund reiterated its commitment to strengthening agricultural capacity in tertiary institutions as part of broader efforts to enhance food security, skills development and economic growth in the country.
