Buni to Inaugurate Biomedical Centre, Honour TeenEagle Champions at YSU

Yobe State Governor, Hon. (Dr) Mai Mala Buni, is set to commission the Biomedical Research and Training Centre at Yobe State University (YSU), Damaturu, and host a reception in honour of the Yobe TeenEagle World Champions on Thursday.

The event, scheduled for 2:00 p.m., will also feature the scientific launch of the centre, themed “Advancing Biomedical Research, Innovation and Global Collaboration in Nigeria.”

A statement issued on Wednesday by Yusuf Ali, Focal Person, Digital and Strategic Communications, said the centre is aimed at strengthening capacity in biomedical sciences and promoting cutting-edge research at the university.

According to the statement, the facility is expected to position YSU as a hub for innovation, knowledge exchange and international academic collaboration, while supporting the state’s broader investment in higher education and scientific development.

The governor will also lead a grand reception in honour of the Yobe TeenEagle World Champions, whose recent global success has brought recognition to the state and the country.

The statement noted that the celebration reflects the state government’s commitment to nurturing youth talent, excellence and intellectual competitiveness.

It added that the event is expected to attract government officials, academics, researchers, development partners, students and other stakeholders from within and outside Yobe State.

The statement further said Gov. Buni’s participation underscores his administration’s focus on education-driven development, youth empowerment and strategic investment in science and innovation as key drivers of sustainable growth in the state.
