Adamawa State University (ADSU), Mubi, is set to commence Medicine (MBBS) and Engineering Sciences programmes following the approval of Gov. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa.
The Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the University’s Governing Council, Prof. Maxwell Gidado (SAN), disclosed this during a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) town hall engagement in Ganye Local Government Area.
Gidado said the approval marked a major milestone in the institution’s development, noting that the new programmes would expand academic offerings and strengthen capacity in critical sectors.
According to him, the introduction of Medicine will enhance medical education and healthcare delivery in the state, while the Engineering Sciences programme is expected to provide technical skills and manpower needed for development.
He added that the initiative would open more opportunities for students in Adamawa and neighbouring states, while contributing to human capital growth in the region.
The university is expected to begin necessary processes, including accreditation and infrastructure development, ahead of the take-off of the programmes.
