Gov. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa has reviewed the curfew earlier imposed on Lamurde Local Government Area, easing restrictions to allow movement from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.
The governor gave the directive on Wednesday, warning that those responsible for recent violence in the area would face the full weight of the law.
“This gesture shouldn’t be taken lightly. Those behind the violence have been identified and will face consequences,” Fintiri said.
“The era of leniency is over; anyone breaking the law will be arrested and prosecuted.”
He advised law-abiding residents to go about their lawful businesses peacefully, assuring them of government protection.
“The government will protect your rights and freedoms but won’t hesitate to act against troublemakers,” he added.
“You’ve been warned. The government is watching, and justice will be served. Don’t test our patience.”
Fintiri also appealed to all parties involved in the crisis to maintain peace and order in Lamurde.
