Apply: Gombe Varsity Announces Massive Recruitment for Academic, Non-Academic Staff

The Gombe State University (GSU) has announced a recruitment exercise for academic and non-academic staff into its newly established Faculty of Agriculture.
The university said the exercise is aimed at strengthening teaching, research, and practical training as it expands its academic programmes in agricultural sciences.
According to the announcement, suitably qualified candidates are invited to apply for positions across entry-level, mid-career, and senior academic ranks, as well as technical and farm support roles.
Available academic vacancies include Lecturer II, Lecturer I, Assistant Lecturer, Graduate Assistant, Senior Lecturer, Reader, and Professor across disciplines such as Animal Science, Forestry and Wildlife, Agricultural Economics, Crop Science, Agricultural Extension and Rural Development, Soil Science, Fisheries and Aquaculture, and Horticulture and Landscape Management.
Senior academic openings include Senior Lecturer positions across multiple agricultural fields, Reader positions in specialised disciplines, and Professor roles in Soil Science as well as Fisheries and Aquaculture.
The university also announced non-academic vacancies including Farm Officer, Field Assistant, Technician, and Laboratory Technologist to support research, farm management, and practical learning activities.
Applicants are required to submit an application letter, curriculum vitae (CV), photocopies of academic and professional certificates, names and addresses of three referees, and a list of publications for academic roles.
All applications are to be addressed to the Registrar of Gombe State University and submitted via email to recruitment@gsu.edu.ng.
The institution advised applicants to clearly state the position and department applied for in the subject line of their email, warning that applications without a clear subject heading may not be considered.
The deadline for submission of applications is May 8, 2026, while only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for further screening and assessment.
The university noted that the recruitment exercise offers an opportunity for qualified professionals to contribute to agricultural education and research while building careers in the academic sector.
