“I Am From a Poor Family” — Borno Lawmaker Breaks Down in Tears, Seeks 5th Term Endorsement

A member of the Borno State House of Assembly, Audu Mustapha Ganga, has stirred public reactions after breaking down in tears while pleading with his constituents to support his bid for a fifth term in office.

Ganga, who represents Magumeri Constituency and has served for about 16 years, made the emotional appeal during a stakeholders’ meeting, where he urged residents to reconsider calls for new representation.

In a viral video, the lawmaker was seen visibly emotional as he said his humble background had not stopped him from serving his people.

“You know I am from a poor family, but I was able to do many things for you. I promise to give you better representation if given another chance,” he said.

Reports indicate that at least six aspirants have already obtained forms to contest his seat, setting the stage for a competitive election ahead.

The video has since generated mixed reactions online, with supporters praising his contributions to empowerment and development, while critics questioned the emotional appeal and called for leadership change.
