Kefas clinches APC governorship ticket in Taraba

Governor Agbu Kefas has emerged as the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Taraba State ahead of the 2027 governorship election.

Kefas secured 166,357 votes to defeat his closest rival, Mu’azu Jaji, who polled 4,110 votes in the APC governorship primary conducted in the state.

Speaking after he was declared winner on Friday, the governor described the exercise as a victory for democracy and urged party members to unite for the development of the state.

“The contest is now over. The time has come for unity and collective action toward the continued development of our state,” Kefas said.

He appreciated the leadership of the APC at all levels for what he described as their support and confidence in his administration.

The governor also thanked residents of Taraba State for their continued support and cooperation, assuring them of his commitment to good governance.

Kefas said his administration would continue to provide leadership anchored on fairness, humility and dedication to the welfare and progress of the people.

He pledged to consolidate on the achievements recorded by his administration and sustain programmes aimed at improving the lives of residents across the state.
