A man has been remanded in prison custody for allegedly attempting to shoot and kill a female Staff of Federal Polytechnic Mubi identified as Tsinivery John Jajuwal.
The defendant, Edward Ibrahim of Digil road in Mubi North LGA Adamawa State, has been remanded by the Chief Magistrate Court I presided by Muhammed Buba.
Chief Magistrate Buba, ordered the remand of the defendant for alleged “house trespass, criminal force, assault and attempt to commit culpable homicide”.
The offences, according to the prosecuting police officer, Inspector S.S. Nicholas, contravened sections 334, 240, 241 and 201 of the penal code law.
On his arraignment, the defendant pleaded not guilty to the multiple allegations levelled against him by the prosecution as contained in the First Information Report(FIR).
After the plea of the defendant, the prosecutor asked the court to remand the defendant at the correctional center to enable him forward case file to DPP for legal advice.
Ibrahim, allegedly armed himself with locally made pistol and trespassed into the residence of his victim at the Adamawa State University (ADSU) Mubi Staff Quaters on the 11th January, 2024.
Storming the residence, the defendant pulled out his pistol, pointed at his victim and threatened to kill her and inflicted injuries on different parts of her body in the process.
The victim raised an alarm and the defendant became afraid and shot in the air and escaped from the scene unknown to him that the victim had identified him.
