Over 810 combined total of three volunteer groups received cash donations and food items including rice and maize grain approved by Governor Zulum.
The governor announced the package when he addressed the leadership and members of the volunteers at the premises of the Shehu of Bama, Umar Ibn Shehu Kyari Ibn Umar Elkanemi, on Monday.
Zulum usually extends support to the military, paramilitary, police, volunteers from the Civilian Joint Task Force, hunters and vigilantes on visits to Local Government headquarters and rural communities.
The governor extolled the volunteers for the sacrifices they were making and assured them of the government’s continuous support in order to provide peace and security.
“We are aware of the enormous efforts you put into complementing the military in the fight against insurgency and other forms of criminality. We commend you and urge you to continue to be dedicated,” Zulum said.
He added, “The government of Borno State will never relent in extending support to you. Your welfare is of high priority to us, we will not leave you. Be assured that the government will always be with you.”
