
The Deputy National Coordinator of the New Down for Women and Community Intervention Initiative (NEWOMCII), Heather-Ronke Akanni, has met with the executives of the organisation’s Borno State chapter to review the NGOs activities and strengthen efforts toward women and community development.
The meeting, held in Maiduguri on Friday, was attended by the State Coordinator, Media and Publicity Officer, Monitoring and Evaluation Officer, Organising Secretary and the Local Government Focal Officer.
Discussions focused on appreciating the National Chairman and coordinators for their support and interventions, as well as strategies for expanding the organisation’s programmes across the state.
The executives also deliberated on securing a permanent office space, intensifying membership drive and enhancing the implementation of initiatives aimed at empowering women and promoting community development.
Akanni commended the Borno chapter for its commitment to the organisation’s mandate and encouraged members to sustain efforts toward delivering impactful interventions.
The Borno executives reaffirmed their commitment to the vision and objectives of NEWOMCII, pledging to work closely with the national leadership to expand the organisation’s reach and improve the lives of women and vulnerable communities in the state.
