Former Kaduna Central Senator, Shehu Sani, has voiced his opinion that the purported disbursement of N30 billion to each state governor in Nigeria is enough to combat hunger within their respective states.
This comes in response to statements made by Senate President Godswill Akpabio, who disclosed an “unverified report” suggesting such allocations were made to address the economic and hunger crises facing the nation.
On Tuesday, Akpabio stated, “An unverified report has it that each of the state governments in the last few months has received additional N30 billion from the Federal Inland Revenue Service outside their normal allocations from the Federation Account to assist them in ameliorating the food situation.”
Reacting to this revelation via his social media handle, Shehu Sani pointed out the lack of public rebuttal from any state governor regarding the alleged disbursement. Sani urged citizens to demand accountability from their respective state governments, emphasizing the substantial nature of N30 billion as a potential solution to the prevailing hunger issues.
“Senate President Akpabio revealed that every state governor was given N30 billion. No governor is yet to dispute that claim. That sum is adequate to solve the problem of hunger in your state.
Call out your state government and hold them accountable as you do to the FG… N30 billion is not 3k,” Sani emphasized in his statement.
