Former Nigerian Head of State, Abdussalami Abubakar, made a visit to Gombe State to express his condolences to Major General Abdulrasheed Aliyu, his former Chief Security Officer, following the passing of his father, Alhaji Muhammadu Aliyu.
Ismaila Uba Misilli, Director-General (Press Affairs) at the Government House Gombe, released a statement on Monday.
Abdussalami also extended his sympathies to Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya and the Emir of Gombe, Alhaji Dr. Abubakar Shehu Abubakar III, over the loss of the elder statesman.
During his visit to the Emir at his Palace, Abdussalami praised the harmonious coexistence in Gombe and commended the developmental strides achieved under the leadership of Governor Inuwa Yahaya.
At the Presidential Lodge, Governor Inuwa Yahaya presented a plaque to express gratitude for Abdussalami’s visit.
Accompanying the Governor were his Deputy, Dr. Manassah Daniel Jatau, the Emir of Gombe, Alhaji Dr. Abubakar Shehu Abubakar III, Chief of Staff at the Government House, Abubakar Inuwa Kari, Commissioners, and other top government officials.
