Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has felicitated with the Muslim Ummah in Gombe State and across the globe on the occasion of this year’s Eid el-Kabir celebration.
In a goodwill message, the Governor emphasized the importance of unity, sacrifice, and compassion amid current socio-economic and security challenges.
He highlighted the essence of Eid el-Kabir as a time for sacrifice, sharing, and caring, urging the faithful to emulate the spirit of obedience, love, and resilience exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim (AS) and upheld by Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
He called for continuous prayers for the peace, prosperity, and development of Gombe State and Nigeria.
Acknowledging the socio-economic challenges currently facing the country, Governor Inuwa Yahaya encouraged the people not to lose sight of the festival’s teachings of selflessness, love, and obedience to Almighty Allah’s commands.
“Although this year’s celebration comes at a challenging time, we must not forget the valuable lessons of Eid el-Kabir,” he said.
Governor Inuwa Yahaya expressed his gratitude to traditional rulers, community and religious leaders, and the people of Gombe State in general for their continued support, reassuring them of his administration’s commitment to implementing policies and projects that will drive socio-economic progress.
He said, “We remain resolute in our determination to execute people-oriented policies and programmes for the betterment of our dear state.”
The Governor also stressed the importance of security, urging citizens to be vigilant and report any suspicious activities that could threaten peace. He affirmed the government’s responsibility to protect lives and property and pledged continued support for security agencies. “The government will not abdicate its primary responsibility of ensuring the safety and security of our people,” he emphasized.
In light of the rainy season, Governor Inuwa Yahaya called for prayers for steady rainfall and a bountiful harvest. He advised citizens to heed experts’ seasonal climate predictions and annual flood outlook advisories by maintaining clean environments, clearing drainages, and avoiding flood-prone areas to prevent flooding.
Governor Inuwa Yahaya also extended his congratulations to the Muslim pilgrims performing Hajj, wishing them a successful and rewarding pilgrimage.
He prayed for a peaceful and blessed Eid celebration, filled with the benevolence of Almighty Allah.
