Flood Cuts Off Another Highway in Bauchi, Governor Warns of Submergence Risk

Flooding has severed the Azare-Ja’amare road along the Kano-Maiduguri Highway in Bauchi State, barely two weeks after a similar incident occurred on a federal highway connecting Kano to Maiduguri.

Governor Bala Mohammed, who inspected the affected area on Thursday, reported the situation to the Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, and warned that communities risk being submerged if the water flow is not managed effectively.

The flood created a large crater in the middle of the road, forcing motorists to find alternative routes.

This incident is the latest in a series of floods affecting Bauchi State, resulting in loss of lives and destruction of thousands of houses.
