The Federal Government has disbursed a recapitalization grant of N50,000 each to 1,000 carefully selected petty traders in Gombe State under the Renewed Hope Initiative Women Empowerment Program.
The program, led by Senator Remi Tinubu, aims to rekindle the hope of Nigeria’s women petty traders with nearly N2 billion earmarked for implementation across the 36 states of the federation.
Hajiya Asma’u Muhammadu Inuwa, the First Lady of Gombe State, who presented the grants, expressed hope that the initiative would improve the economic livelihood of the beneficiary households and Nigeria as a whole.
“When a woman is empowered, a community is empowered,” she said, praying for Nigeria’s economy to improve for the better.
