His Royal Highness, Lamido Adamawa, Alhaji Dr. Muhammadu Barkindo Aliyu Mustapha, PhD, CFR, on Saturday conferred turbans on ten prominent individuals in the Fombina Emirate during a ceremony held in Yola.
The event marked the appointment of five new District Heads and the conferment of traditional titles on five others.
The Executive Governor of Adamawa State, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, was represented at the occasion. Other dignitaries in attendance included members of the Adamawa State Council of Chiefs such as Alhaji Mustapha Aminu (Galadima Adamawa), Alhaji Aminu Abdulkadir Mbamba (Wali Adamawa), and Alhaji Mustapha Muhammadu Barkindo (Kaura Adamawa).
The newly appointed District Heads are:
Alhaji Aliyu Muhammad Alam (Ditera)
Alhaji Salihu Isa Falama (Mboi)
Alhaji Suleiman Yahya Njidda (Uba)
Alhaji Abubakar Yusuf (Hildi)
Alhaji Adamu Suleiman (Gaya)
The following individuals were conferred with traditional titles:
Mr. Kuru Danlami Yaku Dah (Sarkin Jukun Kwararrafa Adamawa)
Alhaji Yusuf Muhammed Bello (Wakili Shanu Adamawa)
Alhaji Babangida Ibrahim (Sarki Baka Adamawa)
Alhaji Umaru Abubakar (Sarki Kasuwa Adamawa)
Alhaji Muhammadu Gidado Mahmud (Sarki Pawa Adamawa)
Addressing the gathering, the Lamido charged the new appointees to discharge their duties with justice, fairness, and dedication to unity. He urged them to focus on improving the welfare of their communities while fostering peace and development in the emirate.
Speaking on behalf of the honorees, Alhaji Salihu Isa Falama, the new District Head of Mboi, thanked the Lamido for the recognition and pledged their collective commitment to serving their communities and the state with diligence.
The ceremony concluded with special prayers for the health and long life of the Lamido as well as the continued progress of the Fombina Emirate.
