Gombe Governor Pledges Continued Support for NYSC

Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Gombe State.

The governor made this pledge on Saturday when he received the Gombe State NYSC Coordinator, Mrs. Chinwe Nnenna Nwaehuku, at the Government House.

During the meeting, Yahaya assured the NYSC official that his government would continue to enhance the experience and welfare of corps members in the state.

He acknowledged the current state of the Amada NYSC temporary orientation camp and promised to facilitate its renovation while awaiting the completion of the permanent site, which he described as one of his priority projects.

The governor expressed optimism about the progress of work at the NYSC permanent orientation camp, noting that it would be completed soon.

“We want to make sure that our corps members are comfortable and supported during their service year,” Yahaya stated.

He also revealed plans for a skill acquisition programme in collaboration with NYSC, aimed at empowering rural women and widows across the state through vocational training and economic opportunities.

In her remarks, Mrs. Nwaehuku expressed gratitude to the governor for his continued support of the NYSC and corps members serving in Gombe.

She called for sustained collaboration between the state government and the NYSC to ensure corps members contribute meaningfully to the state’s development.

The NYSC coordinator also presented the scheme’s newsletter and other publications to the governor.
