CJTF Member Allegedly Kills Man in Borno

A member of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) in Kaga Local Government Area of Borno State has allegedly killed a 35-year-old man, identified as Bukar Abba.

Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama that the incident occurred on March 19, 2025, at about 8:00 p.m. in Adamty Bush, Kaga LGA.

Following the incident, the Borno State Police Command launched an investigation on March 20, 2025, at about 10:15 a.m., with efforts ongoing to apprehend the suspect.

Authorities have yet to disclose further details on the motive behind the killing or whether the suspect has been arrested.

The CJTF, a volunteer security group formed to support the military in counterinsurgency operations, has played a key role in tackling insurgency in the North-East but has faced allegations of human rights abuses in recent years.

The police assured the public of a thorough investigation to ensure justice is served.
