Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has approved the appointment of 168 political aides in a bid to strengthen governance and enhance inclusive leadership across the state.
The announcement was made in a statement by Mukhtar Gidado, Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the governor, on Tuesday.
According to Gidado, the appointments are part of Governor Mohammed’s ongoing efforts to broaden participation in governance and reflect the diversity of the state’s population. He noted that the move aims to boost service delivery and inject fresh energy into the administration.
The newly appointed aides comprise 63 Personal Assistants, 60 Senior Special Assistants, 38 Special Assistants on Political and Community Relations, five Principal Special Assistants on Political and Community Relations, one Principal Special Assistant on Pension Matters, and one Senior Special Assistant on Labour Matters.
Gidado explained that the appointees include former political office holders at national, state, and local government levels. They were selected based on merit, experience, political involvement, and leadership potential.
“The governor urged the new appointees to view their roles as a call to greater service, emphasizing dedication, loyalty, and a people-first approach to governance,” Gidado said.
He added that the appointments will help consolidate the administration’s achievements and foster a legacy of inclusivity, good governance, and sustainable development.
