Troops Neutralise Terrorists, Recover Arms And Ammunition

Troops of Operation Hadin Kai, in collaboration with the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), have neutralised several Boko Haram and Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists in separate operations in Borno State.

The Nigerian Army disclosed this in a statement on Thursday in Maiduguri.

It said the operations were part of ongoing efforts to rid the North-East of insurgent threats and restore lasting peace in the region.

According to the statement, on May 21, troops encountered terrorists attempting to loot food items from a broken-down civilian vehicle in Rann, Kala Balge Local Government Area.

The troops swiftly engaged the terrorists, killing six and recovering some AK-47 rifles and rounds of ammunition.

“In a separate operation, troops of Forward Operating Base (FOB) Molai, in conjunction with the CJTF, conducted a successful ambush at a terrorist crossing point near Komala, along the Maiduguri-Damboa road,” the statement said.

It added that the ambush led to the neutralisation of some terrorists and the recovery of several motorcycles and Improvised Explosive Device (IED) materials.

The army commended the troops and CJTF for their continued efforts and urged residents to remain vigilant and support security agencies with credible information
