Taraba Govt Debunks Rumour of Deputy Governor’s Replacement

The Taraba State Government has dismissed as false and misleading reports circulating on social and traditional media that Governor Agbu Kefas has nominated Alhaji Hamman Adama as the new Deputy Governor of the state.

In a statement issued on Tuesday and signed by the Commissioner for Information and Re-orientation, Barr. Zainab Usman Jalingo, the government described the claim as “entirely false, wicked, and misleading,” urging the public to disregard it in its entirety.

“There is no vacancy in the office of the Deputy Governor,” the statement read. “The current Deputy Governor, Alhaji Aminu Abdullahi Alkali, remains the duly elected Deputy Governor of Taraba State.”

The government further emphasized that the constitutional process for replacing a Deputy Governor is well-defined and requires both legislative and legal procedures. According to the statement, no such process has been initiated or is being considered.

The commissioner urged the public to rely solely on verified information from official government communication channels and to remain calm, assuring that the government remains committed to the delivery of good governance and will not be distracted by baseless rumours.
