A boy identified as Hamza Abdullahi, aged about 12 years and believed to be from Dokoro Village in Dukku Local Government Area of Gombe State, has been found in Song Local Government Area of Adamawa State.
The child was found on 29th June, 2025, by a Good Samaritan near an Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camp in Song, and was subsequently taken to the Divisional Police Headquarters in the area.
According to the child, he hails from Dokoro Village in Dukku LGA, Gombe State. The circumstances surrounding how he arrived in Song LGA remain unknown.
The Commissioner of Police in Adamawa, CP Dankombo Morris, PSC(+), confirmed the incident and appealed to members of the public to assist in locating the child’s parents or guardians.
Morris decried the increasing rate of parental negligence, warning that the failure of some parents to live up to their responsibilities puts children at serious risk.
“It is worrisome that some parents recklessly abandon their responsibilities, exposing innocent children to danger and harsh living conditions,” the CP said.
He called on members of the public, particularly those within and around Dukku and Song LGAs, to assist the police with any useful information that could help reunite the child with his family.
The public is advised to contact the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Song Division, via 08069560863, or reach out to the Command’s Public Relations Officer.
