Taraba Govt Refutes Ghost Worker Allegations

The Taraba State Government has dismissed claims that it has labelled any of its employees as ghost workers.

The Head of Service, Dr Hamidu Ahmed Kara, told newsmen in Jalingo that the government had not made such a declaration, contrary to rumours circulating in the state.

He said only 2,411 workers were yet to receive their salaries due to non-completion of the ongoing staff verification exercise.

Kara refuted reports that over 7,000 workers were affected, describing the figure as inaccurate.

He urged the affected workers to present themselves for verification to enable the government to process their payments.

According to him, the exercise is aimed at ensuring payroll integrity and promoting transparency in the state civil service.
