Governor Bala Reviews 2025 Budget Implementation, Development Projects at SEC Meeting

Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed of Bauchi State on Wednesday presided over an extraordinary session of the State Executive Council (SEC), where progress in the implementation of the 2025 budget and key development priorities were reviewed.

According to performance reports presented at the meeting, over 70 per cent of the 2025 budget has so far been executed, with internally generated revenue and other receipts surpassing initial projections.

The council deliberated on major projects, including the ongoing renovation of the Bauchi Specialist Hospital, popularly known as BACAS, and the construction of additional roads in the new Government Residential Area (GRA). Both projects are expected to boost healthcare delivery and support urban development in the state.

Governor Mohammed restated his administration’s commitment to prioritising investments in critical sectors such as education, healthcare, and agriculture. He also underscored the importance of strengthening partnerships with international development stakeholders to accelerate the state’s growth.

“The achievements so far are commendable, but we must remain steadfast in delivering on our promises to the people of Bauchi State. Our focus remains on projects that have direct impact on citizens’ welfare,” he said.

The meeting also examined strategies to improve service delivery and ensure timely completion of all ongoing projects across the state.
