Buni Approves Appointment Of 10 New Permanent Secretaries In Yobe

Gov. Mai Mala Buni of Yobe has approved the appointment of 10 new permanent secretaries in the state civil service.

This is contained in a statement by Alhassan Sule Mamudo, Chief Information Officer, Office of the Head of Service, on Tuesday in Damaturu.

Mamudo said the appointments were in line with the governor’s drive to strengthen the state’s bureaucratic structure, enhance service delivery, and promote merit-based leadership across ministries, departments and agencies.

He listed the new appointees to include Bamai Zanna, Engr. Mai Madu Goniri, Bako Modu Kagu, Musa Garba, Abubakar Usman Kolere and Ibrahim Ali.

Others are Mohammed Annur, Abbas Isah Bizi, Mohammed Kalli and Dr. Yusuf Idriss Madaki.

According to the statement, the appointments, which take immediate effect, are part of ongoing reforms aimed at injecting fresh energy and professionalism into the state’s public service in line with global best practices.

Reacting to the development, the Focal Person on Digital and Strategic Communications to the Governor, Mr Yusuf Ali, said the appointments underscored Buni’s commitment to building a sustainable and revitalised civil service.

He said the governor remained focused on laying a solid foundation that would ensure effective governance beyond his tenure.
