Breaking: Varsity Suspends E-Exams Indefinitely as Non-Teaching Staff Strike Disrupts Academic Activities

The University of Maiduguri has postponed its ongoing electronic examinations following the continuing strike by non-teaching staff.
In a memo dated May 4 and issued by the institution’s Examinations and Time-Table Unit, the university directed that all affected e-exams be rescheduled until the industrial action is suspended.
The notice, signed by the Coordinator of Exams and Time-Table, Prof. Dani Mamman, was addressed to the E-Exams Coordinator and urged relevant staff to take note and comply with the directive.
“In view of the Non-Teaching Staff strike, the above exams will be rescheduled till the current strike is suspended,” the memo stated.
The development is expected to affect students across various faculties who were scheduled to sit for computer-based tests during the period.
The postponement comes amid ongoing disruptions in Nigerian universities due to industrial actions by non-academic staff unions, raising concerns over academic calendar stability.
No new date has been announced for the resumption of the postponed examinations as of the time of filing this report.
