Gov. Bala Flags Off 19billion Bauchi Specialist Hospital Upgrade Project

Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to providing quality and affordable healthcare services for residents, as he flagged off the ₦19 billion rehabilitation and upgrade of the Bauchi Specialist Hospital.

Speaking at the flag-off ceremony on Tuesday, Governor Mohammed said the project underscores his administration’s resolve to enhance the wellbeing of citizens through modern and efficient healthcare delivery.

According to the Governor, the project goes beyond renovation to include the construction of new buildings, establishment of modern operating theatres, and creation of specialized care units for patients with critical health conditions.

He explained that the upgrade would transform the Bauchi Specialist Hospital into a state-of-the-art medical facility capable of handling complex cases, while also enhancing access to quality healthcare services across the state.

“This project reflects our administration’s priority of ensuring that every citizen, regardless of status or location, has access to reliable, quality, and affordable medical care,” the Governor stated.

Governor Mohammed added that the initiative would also involve the installation of advanced medical equipment, introduction of digital medical record systems, and staff capacity development to ensure efficient service delivery.

He assured residents that his administration would continue to invest heavily in the health sector to meet the growing demands of the population, adding that the upgraded facility would serve not only Bauchi but also neighboring states in the North-East region.

When completed, the Governor said, the Bauchi Specialist Hospital would stand among the leading referral health institutions in Northern Nigeria, boosting the healthcare system and advancing the administration’s vision of a healthy and prosperous Bauchi State.
