Kefas Urges Consensus As APC Meets On Taraba Primaries

Gov. Agbu Kefas has urged stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Taraba State to adopt consensus in selecting candidates ahead of the party’s forthcoming primary elections.

Kefas gave the advice on Sunday while addressing a stakeholders’ meeting held at the Exco Chamber, TY Danjuma House in Jalingo.

He called on party leaders to return to their constituencies, consult widely, and work towards producing consensus candidates for all elective positions within the next five days.

The governor emphasised the need for peaceful engagement among aspirants, stressing that no political ambition should lead to division within the party.

Kefas also assured stakeholders that concerns arising from recent congresses were receiving due attention, adding that all pending issues would be resolved amicably.

The meeting later went into a closed-door session attended by members of the National and State Assemblies, the Minister of State for Regional Development, top party officials, and other critical stakeholders of the APC.

The development is part of efforts to ensure a smooth and rancour-free primary process in the state.
