The Nigerian Navy has released the list of shortlisted candidates for the Basic Training School (NNBTS) Batch 38 interview, following the successful conduct of the recruitment examination held on Nov. 29, 2025.
This is contained in a press release issued by the Navy Secretary in December 2025.
According to the statement, candidates whose names appear on the official recruitment portal, https://www.joinnigeriannavy.navy.mil.ng or https://eu.docworkspace.com/d/sIPzhhIyAAr65sMoG?sa=601.1074 were successful in the examination and are invited to participate in the interview exercise.
The interview is scheduled to hold concurrently at two centres — the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) Old Site, Kaduna, and the Nigerian Navy Basic Training School (NNBTS), Onne, Rivers State — from Jan. 10 to Feb. 21, 2026.
The Navy explained that candidates from the North West, North Central and North East geopolitical zones will attend their interviews at the NDA Old Site in Kaduna, while those from the South West, South South and South East zones will be interviewed at NNBTS Onne, Rivers State.
A breakdown of the interview schedule shows that candidates from the North West and South South zones will be screened from Jan. 10 to Jan. 23, 2026. Those from the North Central and South East zones are scheduled for Jan. 24 to Feb. 6, 2026, while candidates from the North East and South West zones will attend interviews from Feb. 7 to Feb. 20, 2026.
The Navy further stated that the interview exercise will involve screening and verification of credentials, medical and physical evaluation, as well as a written test.
Shortlisted candidates are required to report with a printout of their duly signed application forms, originals and photocopies of their credentials, valid Category H driver’s licence, state of origin or local government certificate, and National Identity Card or acknowledgment slip.
Other required items include writing materials, two pairs of navy blue shorts, two white unmarked T-shirts, a pair of canvas or trainers with stockings, bed sheets and pillow cases, a set of cutlery, four recent passport photographs measuring 30 by 30 millimetres on white background, and personal toiletries.
The statement also stressed that candidates must present a copy of their Bank Verification Number (BVN) during the screening.
The Navy warned that the interview would be conducted individually and that any candidate found deficient in any of the required criteria would be disqualified at any stage of the exercise.
It added that any false information or declaration made by a candidate would lead to outright cancellation of candidature and possible prosecution by the Nigeria Police Force.
Similarly, candidates found with forged documents or impersonating others would be arrested and prosecuted, while failure to report for screening at the designated centre on the assigned date would result in forfeiture of candidature.
“All concerned are to note and comply accordingly,” the statement said.
