President Tinubu Strengthens Civil Service With Five New Appointments

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of five new Permanent Secretaries in the Federal Civil Service to fill existing vacancies and enhance leadership and service delivery across ministries.

The newly appointed Permanent Secretaries are:

Ibrahim Abdulkarim Ozi – Federal Capital Territory

Ezemama John Chidiebere – Imo State

Garba Abdul Sule Usman – North Central Geo-Political Zone

Mohammed Musa Ishiyaku – North East Geo-Political Zone

Ukaire Binyerem Chigbowu – South East Geo-Political Zone

According to a statement from the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation on Monday, the appointments followed a rigorous and transparent selection process, in line with the administration’s commitment to meritocracy and excellence in public service.

The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack, OON, mni, congratulated the newly appointed officials and commended President Tinubu for his continued dedication to professionalism and accountability in governance.

She noted that the new appointees bring a wealth of experience and expertise to their roles, which will further strengthen the capacity of the civil service to deliver on the government’s development agenda.

“These appointments reflect the administration’s dedication to fostering a competent and results-oriented Public Service that meets the needs of Nigerians,” Mrs. Walson-Jack said.

One of the new appointees, Dr. Mohammed Musa Ishiyaku, representing the North East Geo-Political Zone, was particularly celebrated by colleagues and associates, who described his elevation as well-deserved recognition of his service and leadership in the public sector.

The Office of the Head of Civil Service reaffirmed that the selection process was merit-based and aligned with ongoing reforms aimed at repositioning the Civil Service for greater efficiency, transparency, and productivity.
