Adamawa Govt Suspends Crossover Night Activities Over Security Concerns

The Adamawa State Government has announced the suspension of all activities planned for the Cross Over Night celebrations scheduled for December 31, 2025 to January 1, 2026, at the Unity Fly-Over in Jimeta, Yola.

The decision, according to the government, followed credible intelligence reports bordering on security concerns, prompting authorities to take precautionary measures in the interest of public safety.

In a statement issued on Tuesday by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Humwashi Wonosikou, the government reaffirmed that the safety and security of citizens remain its top priority.

The statement noted that the state government would continue to collaborate closely with security agencies to ensure peace and stability across Adamawa State.

Residents, particularly those in Yola North and Yola South Local Government Areas, were urged to remain vigilant, avoid crowded places, and promptly report any suspicious activities to security authorities.

The government assured the public that further updates would be communicated as necessary while appealing for understanding and cooperation from citizens as the state works to maintain law and order.
