The Taraba State Police Command has paraded twenty-eight suspects for various criminal activities, including kidnapping, armed robbery, and culpable homicide.
The suspects were presented before newsmen at the police headquarters in Jalingo, the state capital, by the Commissioner of Police, David Iloyanomon on Thursday.
Commissioner Iloyanomon highlighted the collaborative efforts between security agencies and the public, emphasizing their role in achieving significant strides in combating criminal activities within the state.
He commended the joint efforts that led to the arrests and the notable achievements in curbing various forms of criminality.
The Commissioner announced the arrest of Abdulkarim Ibrahim, a notorious kidnapper operating in Sardauna local government council.
Additionally, he revealed that the police seized numerous firearms, including AK-47 rifles, pistols, and ammunition, during operations targeting armed criminals.
Furthermore, Commissioner Iloyanomon noted the progress made in solving cases of homicide, including the arrest of suspects linked to the killing of a local monarch in Gassol local government council.
He also highlighted the arrest of individuals engaged in cyber-crime activities, such as impersonation of police officers, underscoring ongoing efforts to combat digital crimes within the state.
