The National Youth Service Corp (NYSC) in the State have pledged its commitment to compliment governments efforts by embarking on a tree planting campaign to fight deforestation and global warming calling on all key players to join in this noble course.
The State NYSC Coordinator Muhd Lawan Ahmed disclosed this in his address during the opening ceremony of 1023 2024 Batch B stream 1 corp members.
While describing the Governor as the most NYSC friendly Governor in the country the State Coordinator congratulated him for his recognition as the best Governor in infrastructural development for the second time saying it is not coming to them as a surprise owing to his purposeful leadership.
Muhd Lawan expressed gratitude to the Governor for his recognition of the critical role the corp members play in the society and his Consistent generosity by augmenting feeding of corp members and officials and the payment of 10,000 naira monthly to corp members,renovation of some facilities in the camp among others.
He assured that the NYSC and corp members will never disappoint the state, reiterating its commitment to the NLP collaboration with the ministry of education noting that executing the noble program will no doubt trigger educational development in all the nooks and crannies of the state.
The State Coordinator urged the corp members to make healthy interactions, build friendships, promote peace and unity and take precautionary measures against cholera as their health being remains paramount to the success of the scheme.
Governor Fintiri while welcoming the corp members to the state intimated them that Adamawa remains one of the most peaceful states in the country despite its over 80 ethnic tribes and other social differences charging them however to be security conscious.
The Governor reassured of government’s determination to sustain the payment of 10,000 naira monthly to corp members serving in the state and 20,000 naira to corp members who teach in government schools at the end of their service year and other bounties introduced to ensure the success of the scheme in the state.
He highlighted feats recorded by his administration in the areas of infrastructure, education, health,security and human development which he opined will make their service year memorable.
Earlier, Commissioner of youth and sports development, represented by the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, expressed gratitude to the Governor for his kind disposition towards the NYSC urging the corp members to abide by the oaths sworn, and embrace the skills acquisition training which is aimed at making them job creators instead of job seekers
The oath of allegiance was administered on the 1023 corp members by the State Chief Judge Barr Hafsat Abdulrahman
