Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has been selected as the Africa Man of the Year by the Africa Women Global Community.
The community, representing women from 22 African countries, honoured Fintiri for his commitment to gender equality and empowerment.
A statement by the Women in Africa for Transformation Initiative said Fintiri’s achievements in promoting women’s representation and opportunities in Adamawa State were remarkable.
The statement cited the appointment of a female deputy governor, a female chief judge, and all 21 local government chairpersons as women as a testament to Fintiri’s leadership.
The award ceremony is scheduled for Saturday in Lagos.
