NDLEA Intercepts 626 Blocks of Suspected Cannabis Worth 500.8kg in Adamawa

Adamawa State command of the National drug law enforcement agency has intercepted 626 compressed blocks, weighting 500.800kg of weed suspected to be cannabis sativa around Numan bridge.

The state commandant of the agency, Agboalu Femi Samson stated that officers of  NDLEA collaborated with the military at the checkpoint in effectively achieving  that as   the suspect was already on the watch list.

Femi said two tinted  vehicles, an SUV and Hilux with presidency number believed to be fake were used in transporting the drugs from a place called alagbaka in Akure Ondo state heading towards Mubi Adamawa State.

The commandant explained that the agency’s have a permanent checkpoint to cut off supply of drugs into the state which comprised of two teams that’ operates twenty four seven, stressing that the agency is making few arrest with huge seizure of drugs

The commandant noted that there is a good relationship between the state government as it has been supporting  the agency in achieving its mandate and continue to  organize Sensitization lectures for the public on the effects of drug abuse across the state.

Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri was on the spot assessment of the intercepted substance of abuse as invited by the state commandant, said the state government will not relent on its efforts to supporting the NDLEA in it fight against drug abuse and trafficking.

Governor Fintiri congratulated the officers and  men of the NDLEA Adamawa State command for this effort and assured that the state government will continue collaborate in order to achieve a zero drug business in the state and the country at large.

He therefore advised drug users , especially those undergoing rehabilitation to  desist from the habit in order to actualize their potentials.

The governor was taken round by the state commandant where he inspected rehabilitation cells as well as other newly constructed and renovated buildings at the state command.
