First Bank Nigeria Plc is set to resume operations at its Mayo-Belwa branch, which was closed in 2014 due to a Boko Haram attack.
The decision followed a familiarization visit by Hon. Umar Nashon Gubi, Chairman of Mayo-Belwa Local Government, to the bank’s headquarters.
Gubi highlighted the importance of the reopening in addressing the difficulties faced by residents who travel to Yola, Ganye, or Taraba State for banking services. He added that it would support ongoing empowerment programs under Gov. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri’s administration.
Scheduled for the first quarter of 2025, the branch will offer deposits, withdrawals, and loan services.
The chairman assured the public of robust security measures to ensure the safety of staff and customers.
