
Gov. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has partnered with the Northeast Ambassadors Group and international organizations in a strategic move to address key challenges affecting the state.
A statement issued in Yola on Wednesday said the governor participated in a high-level meeting aimed at developing durable solutions in critical areas such as refugee and internally displaced persons (IDPs) welfare, security enhancement, local governance, and infrastructural development.
The meeting brought together notable ambassadors and representatives from various countries and global agencies, including the African Development Bank (AfDB), Australia, Belgium, Canada, ECHO, the European Union (EU), Egypt, FAO, France, Germany, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, UNDP, UNHCR, UNICEF, UNODC, the United States, the World Food Programme (WFP), and the World Bank.
Gov. Fintiri was accompanied by key members of his team, including his Adviser on World Bank and Development Agencies, Mr. Robert Ahidjo; Adviser on NGOs, Mrs. Asamau Asmau Durnin; and Commissioner for Reconstruction and Humanitarian Services, Bello Hamman Diram.
The statement described the meeting as a significant step in mobilizing support and resources for the state’s sustainable development.
It added that the governor’s commitment to fostering partnerships and leveraging international expertise was expected to drive stability, resilience, and long-term growth in Adamawa.
