Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, on Monday received the Director-General of the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN), Mr. Charles Odii, at the Governor’s Lodge in Abuja.

During the visit, the SMEDAN DG congratulated Governor Mohammed on his recent conferment as the “SME Governor of the Year 2024”, a recognition of his administration’s outstanding contributions to the growth of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Bauchi State.

Mr. Odii commended the governor for creating an enabling environment for small businesses to thrive, adding that the award reflects national acknowledgment of Bauchi State’s commitment to MSME development.

In his remarks, Governor Mohammed appreciated the recognition and attributed the honour to the collective efforts of his administration in promoting inclusive and sustainable economic growth.

“The award is a testament to the dedication of my team and the people of Bauchi State, who have supported our vision to uplift small businesses as engines of growth,” the governor said.

He further reiterated his administration’s readiness to strengthen collaboration with SMEDAN and other relevant agencies to scale up support for entrepreneurs in the state.

Governor Mohammed also aligned the state’s efforts with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, noting that MSME development remains central to job creation and poverty reduction.

The meeting also focused on enhancing institutional frameworks, access to finance, training, and market opportunities for MSMEs across the state.
