PAWECA to Disburse Fintiri Business Wallet Funds in July

The Poverty Alleviation and Wealth Creation Agency (PAWECA) has announced plans to commence the disbursement of the Fintiri Business Wallet funds to beneficiaries this July, in line with the directive of Gov. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri.

The Director General of PAWECA, Dr. Michael Zira, disclosed this on Monday in Yola while receiving members of the Adamawa State chapter of the Trade Union Congress (TUC) in his office.

Zira, who expressed delight over the visit, assured the union of the agency’s commitment to sustained collaboration and partnership.

He said the agency remained focused on delivering its mandate of empowering youths, women, and vulnerable groups as part of the administration’s poverty reduction drive.

The PAWECA boss stated that the agency’s interventions under Fintiri’s leadership had led to a drop in the state’s poverty rate from 74 per cent to 60 per cent.

Earlier, the state TUC Chairman, Comrade Dauda Adamu Ali, commended Zira for his efforts in driving poverty alleviation programmes across the state.

Ali said the agency’s achievements were visible, noting that many residents had benefitted from its various empowerment initiatives.

He also urged PAWECA to sustain its drive for economic empowerment through skills training and other related programmes.

The labour leader assured the agency of the union’s continued support to ensure the economic wellbeing of the state’s residents.
