Gov. Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed of Bauchi State has pledged the reconstruction of the Infectious and General Hospital, Bayara, in Bauchi Local Government Area as part of efforts to reposition the health sector.
Mohammed made the pledge during a visit to the facility on Sunday, where he expressed concern over its dilapidated state and poor level of service delivery.
He said his administration had mapped out strategies for the comprehensive upgrade of health institutions across the state to enhance capacity and improve access to quality healthcare.
The governor added that before the end of his tenure in 2027, more hospitals would be established in the state capital and in other local government areas to meet the growing demand for medical services.
