The Adamawa State Hospital Services Management Board (HSMB) has commenced recruitment interviews for prospective health workers across various medical disciplines, as part of efforts to bolster the state’s healthcare workforce.
The exercise, which began on Monday in Yola, is drawing applicants from all 21 local government areas of the state. It is being conducted under the supervision of a high-level panel chaired by the Executive Chairman of the Board, Dr. Amzaranda Aidan Pugu.
Other members of the panel include the Board Secretary, Musa Babayi; Starlink Consultant, Mallam Sanusi Idris Medugu; alongside other board members and directors.
Addressing candidates during the opening session at the Board’s Main Conference Hall, Dr. Pugu urged all applicants to conduct themselves with decorum, assuring them of a transparent and merit-based process.
“We are committed to ensuring fairness, discipline, and transparency throughout this exercise. Only the most qualified candidates will be selected,” he said.
He also reaffirmed the commitment of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri’s administration to revitalising the health sector through strategic investments in human capital development.
“This recruitment is part of ongoing efforts to bridge manpower gaps in our hospitals and improve healthcare service delivery across Adamawa State,” Dr. Pugu added.
The interviews are scheduled to run until Sept. 29, during which candidates will be assessed on professional competence, technical knowledge and ethical standards.
