Gov. Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed of Bauchi State has reaffirmed his commitment to just, humble, and accountable leadership as he marked his 67th birthday in a modest ceremony attended by family, friends, and political associates.
The low-key event, held in Bauchi, served as a moment of reflection for the governor, who expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah for the journey so far in both his personal life and public service.
Speaking at the event, Mohammed sought forgiveness from anyone he might have offended, noting that the day offered him an opportunity to reflect deeply on his leadership responsibilities and renew his dedication to the service of the people.
“I thank Almighty Allah for sparing my life and giving me the grace to serve. I seek forgiveness from those I may have wronged and pledge to continue leading with equity, fairness, and compassion,” he said.
He described the celebration as one of humility rather than extravagance, adding that leadership should be grounded in sincerity and a desire to uplift the lives of citizens.
Mohammed reiterated his administration’s commitment to improving key sectors such as education, healthcare, and infrastructure, while pledging to leave Bauchi State better than he met it.
According to him, the government has already exceeded public expectations in several areas, and efforts will be intensified to consolidate on the gains recorded.
The event was attended by top government functionaries, members of the Bauchi State House of Assembly (BAHA), leadership of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the state, and other dignitaries.
The celebration featured goodwill messages, prayers, and tributes from attendees who commended the governor’s leadership style and developmental strides across the state.
