Thousands of supporters of the ruling All Progressives Congress from across the 17 local government areas of Yobe State on Friday stormed Damaturu in a massive show of solidarity to welcome Mai Mala Buni and the party’s preferred governorship aspirant, Baba Malam Wali, following their successful screening in Abuja.

The supporters gathered at the Muhammadu Buhari International Airport, where Governor Buni addressed the enthusiastic crowd and described the turnout as proof of the party’s dominance and unity in the state.

“Today’s outing is a true indication that Yobe State is the home of APC,” the governor declared.

He urged party loyalists to remain united and avoid actions capable of creating divisions within the party ahead of the political season.

“We remain one united family; we must not allow politics to divide us.

“We should avoid banter, name-calling and abuse. It is not in our culture and character, and we must not tolerate it,” Buni said.

The governor commended supporters for their continued confidence in his administration and their loyalty to the decisions of the party leadership.

According to him, the support and cooperation of the people had contributed to several achievements recorded by the administration, including the establishment of the airport in Damaturu.

“Your support and cooperation to our administration has produced fruitful results, including this airport.

“Your faith in the decisions of the party which produced the preferred governorship aspirant is quite encouraging and supportive. Thank you all,” he added.

The event attracted party stakeholders, youth groups, women supporters and political loyalists from different parts of the state, turning the airport reception into a carnival-like atmosphere.
