The Executive Governor of Taraba State, Agbu Kefas, on 9 May 2026 paid a condolence visit to the Dantsoho family in Jalingo following the passing of a close family member.
The deceased was the elder sister of the Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority, Dr. Abubakar Dantsoho, who also holds the traditional title of Marafan Muri, and sister to the Chairman of Jalingo Local Government Council, Hon. Nura Dantsoho.
Governor Kefas, who arrived in the company of senior government officials and other dignitaries, expressed sympathy with the family over the loss, describing it as a painful moment and assuring them of his solidarity.
During the visit, prayers were offered for the deceased and the bereaved family, led by prominent Islamic scholars including Sheikh Bala Lau and Sheikh Ibrahim of Jalingo.
The visit was marked by messages of support and prayers for the repose of the deceased’s soul, as well as strength for the family to bear the loss.
The governor’s visit underscored the longstanding relationship between him and Dr. Abubakar Dantsoho, as well as the broader ties between government officials and the family.
The Dantsoho family expressed appreciation for the governor’s visit, describing it as a gesture of compassion and solidarity during their period of mourning.
The condolence visit concluded with renewed prayers for unity, peace, and strength for the bereaved family and the people of Taraba State.
