Jere lawmaker launches free dental outreach in Old Maiduguri

The Member representing Jere Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Engr. Satomi Ahmad, has launched a free dental outreach programme in Ajaari, Old Maiduguri, aimed at improving access to oral healthcare services for residents.

The initiative, carried out in collaboration with the Chief Executive Officer of Muash Wampana Limited, is targeted at providing free dental care to underserved members of the community and surrounding areas.

The programme offers a range of services including oral health education, awareness campaigns, scaling and polishing, tooth extractions, restorative dental procedures, distribution of dental kits, and free medications.

The flag-off ceremony was performed by the Member representing Jere Constituency in the Borno State House of Assembly, Abba Kyari Abba Kolo, who praised the initiative, describing it as timely and impactful for the wellbeing of residents.

He noted that the intervention would help reduce oral health challenges in the community and improve awareness on dental hygiene practices.

Residents reportedly turned out in large numbers on the first day of the exercise, with medical personnel attending to patients throughout the outreach.

Organisers confirmed that Day One of the programme was successfully concluded, while Day Two is scheduled to continue with additional beneficiaries expected to receive free dental services.

The organisers said the initiative reflects ongoing efforts to strengthen community healthcare delivery and support vulnerable populations with essential medical services.
