Woman, Sister Hospitalised After Alleged Attack by Ex-Husband in Jalingo

A woman and her sister are receiving medical treatment after they were allegedly stabbed during an attack by the woman’s ex-husband in the New Era area of Jalingo, Taraba State.

The incident, which reportedly occurred at about 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, has sparked concern among residents following the circulation of disturbing images on social media.

Reports indicated that the suspect allegedly attacked his former wife despite reportedly being divorced from her for more than three years.

According to an eyewitness account by the victim’s sister, the suspect allegedly arrived at the residence and declared his intention to kill before attacking the woman.

During the struggle, the suspect reportedly brought out a knife and stabbed the woman multiple times. Her sister, who attempted to rescue her, was also allegedly stabbed in the process.

The victims, identified as Mrs. Dorice Chubu and Glory Chubu, are indigenes of Warwar on the Mambilla Plateau and are currently undergoing treatment at an undisclosed medical facility.

Meanwhile, the suspect is said to have fled the area, while security agencies have reportedly commenced investigations into the incident.

Family members and concerned residents have appealed for calm and urged the public to allow security agencies to carry out their investigations to ensure justice is served.
