Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to sustained infrastructural development across the state, as he continued his statewide tour of local government areas.
The governor gave the assurance on Tuesday at the Jimeta Football Stadium during his visit to Yola North Local Government Area.
Fintiri, who was accompanied by his deputy, Prof. Kaletapwa George Farauta, and other top government officials, commenced the visit with the commissioning of the newly constructed Yola North Local Government Secretariat executed by the council chairman, Barrister Jibril Ibrahim Jimeta.
After the commissioning, the governor proceeded to the Jimeta Football Stadium, where he was warmly received by a large crowd of stakeholders, party supporters and residents.
Addressing the gathering, Governor Fintiri said the achievements of his administration in policies, programmes and projects were visible across Adamawa State, assuring that his government would continue to serve the people with dedication, fairness and sincerity.
He stressed that his administration remained focused on delivering people-oriented projects that would improve living standards and promote balanced development across the state.
In his welcome address, the Chairman of Yola North Local Government Council, Barrister Jibril Ibrahim Jimeta, described the governor’s visit as historic, noting that since the creation of Yola North Local Government Area in 1996, the council had not witnessed such level of development until the Fintiri administration.
Jimeta, who is also the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) flag bearer for the June 13 local government elections, praised the governor for prioritising grassroots development and empowering local councils.
Also speaking, the member representing Yola North Constituency in the Adamawa State House of Assembly, Suleiman Umar Alkali, and the Commissioner for Local Government Affairs, Ibrahim Yayaji Mijinyawa, commended Governor Fintiri for his sustained infrastructural interventions, particularly in Yola North.
They described the projects executed by the administration as impactful and transformative, urging residents to continue supporting the government’s development agenda.
The visit formed part of Governor Fintiri’s ongoing tour of the state’s 21 local government areas aimed at assessing completed projects and engaging directly with stakeholders.
