Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has congratulated the newly elected chairmen and councillors of the 11 local government councils in the state, following the All Progressives Congress (APC)’s resounding victory in the April 27, 2024 local government councils election.
The Governor, in a statement, commended the Gombe State Independent Electoral Commission (GOSIEC) and security operatives for ensuring a smooth and transparent electoral process. He also praised the peaceful conduct of voters during and after the exercise.
Governor Inuwa Yahaya urged the newly elected officials to see their election as a call to service and to justify the confidence reposed in them by providing viable leadership that will positively impact the lives of people at the grassroots.
The APC won all 11 chairmanship and 114 councillorship seats in the election, according to the official results announced by GOSIEC. The newly elected chairmen include:
– Akko LGA: Mohammed Danladi Adamu
– Balanga: Ibrahim Jatau Salisu
– Billiri: Mrs. Egla Idris
– Dukku: Adamu Mohammed Waziri
– Funakaye: Shuaibu Abdulrahman Adamu
– Gombe: Sani Ahmad Haruna
– Kaltungo: Iliya Suleiman Jatau
– Kwami: Ahmed Wali Doho
– Nafada: Babangida Adamu Jigawa
– Shongom: Fatima Binta Bello
– Yamaltu Deba: Abubakar Hassan Difa
The Governor charged the newly elected officials to remain focused, accountable, and work in the interest of the people.
